This 12x12 in. piece was created as album art, and painted with watercolor and color pencil. Inspired by the Oregon coast with an eerie twist and a cool, dark color palette. A few sea shells lie scattered on the rocks--one of which has an eyeball peeking out of it, staring back at the viewer.
This piece encapsulates a lot of what I enjoy doing: a creepy setting, and something somewhat rooted in reality but slightly distorted to my liking. love the atmosphere of this painting, because I find it equal parts appealing and unsettling.
I created this from my imagination, and enjoyed the freedom that provided me in creating something unique and a little bit bizarre.
