Blue Skies

This 7x7 in. painting combines watercolor, paint markers, and colored pencil. I wanted to contrast this bright, happy blue with a more somber, vulnerable emotion. It's really evocative to me.

What I especially love about this painting is the varying opaqueness of the materials i was using. The watercolor is translucent and thin, the paint markers are completely opaque and solid, and the colored pencils help bridge the gap between the two. I think it makes for a very interesting completed study.
