Ghastly Beach

This 9x12 watercolor painting is an original work of mine inspired by my love of old science fiction films. I get a lot of comments about this piece in particular from people who are both drawn to it and also a little repulsed by it. Which, to me, is very high praise.

I love to design new worlds, and particularly love the contrast between the sky and the terrain on this imaginary planet. With the scattered rock formations and the bright, swirling green-yellow sky, this is the kind of place that invites you to explore... While a clam shell with a ton of eyeballs spilling out of it maybe gives you second thoughts.
